2011 was another exciting year for Postwink as we continued our quest to promote a culture of recycling through the distribution of our quality, easy-to-use products.
As the year drew to a close, we were involved in a number of exciting initiatives throughout the country – a sign that South Africans are getting behind the green movement and impacting their environment positively!
Engen and Woolworths, in association with Nampak recycling, launched a recycling initiative at Engen forecourts in Cape Town and Pretoria, which they will soon be extending to Durban. Don’t forget to look out for our recycling igloos next time you fill up!

Another exciting launch, “Keen2BGreen with Getaway”, saw the well-known travel magazine dropping off Postwink leather-touch recycling bins and recycling boxes at 11 media agencies in Cape Town, JHB and Durban.

There’s also a wonderful new addition to UNISA’s Pretoria and Florida Estate campuses: Postwink igloos and black leather-touch and stainless steel recycling bins. The university will be launching its Recycling Day on 24 January in Pretoria.
Two top Cape Town tourist destinations are also firmly behind the drive to recycle. In December, we delivered three stainless steel bins to Table Mountain, where they are being used to collect glass, paper, plastic and compostable cutlery, while in the Cape Winelands, Spier wine estate has increased its number of recycling bins and is currently running a recycling pilot in its kitchens, using Postwink EcoCylinders.
We’re also exceptionally excited about these clients who we partnered with in 2011: Total (our recycling igloos can be seen on several of their Johannesburg forecourts), Anglo-American and Anglo-Platinum (our leather-touch recycling bins have been installed at their head offices in Johannesburg), the Cape Town Convention Centre (where our stainless steel units can be seen in the foyers) and the Witzenberg Municipality (it recently purchased six Postwink recycling igloos for public use in Ceres.)

With so many of our bins out there, it’s vital that South Africans know where to find them, so we’ve recently been hard at work adding details of new drop-off recycling sites to (http://www.mywaste.co.za/).
And finally, in the spirit of giving – and giving back in particular – Postwink donated 39 bamboo plants to the Blue Disa Community in Gauteng through Food & Trees For Africa’s Bamboo for Africa programme. This brings our total tree donations since 2008 to 128.
No matter how big or small your recycling initiative, Postwink can help you! For more information, please contact us at info@postwink.co.za
